CRUISE!!!

Semirrahge (August 21st, 2002, 5:46 pm)

What on EARTH is with those weird new Ouevre Comments? They don't do jack. When I click on them, it says "No comments yet"... and... Gr. For some reason they really annoy me. :)

Sorry.

CRUISE!!!

cruise (August 21st, 2002, 10:10 pm)

Huh? Slow down, count to ten, and explain yourself better...I don't follow ya...

haha!

Narainsbrain (August 23rd, 2002, 4:00 pm)

okay, here's the thing. the links don't lead anywhere - an (almost) empty page that just says 'no comments yet'. there isn't even the submission in question on the page. go figure.

fix it, cruise!

and did you take care of the url thing like i kept telling you about?

weird...

cruise (August 24th, 2002, 8:25 am)

'cos I swear I fixed that about a week ago...

testing

Narainsbrain (August 26th, 2002, 11:31 am)

let's see now: www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/

edit: it doesn't work!

Edit 2, Hellkeepa: Now it does, don't include the "http://" when you're using the URL tag. ;-)

Perhaps you should fix it, Cruise, so that both variants can be used..?

Edit 3 by Narain: Now it doesn't! :p I /want/ to use the "http://".

Ok, well...

Semirrahge (August 27th, 2002, 11:40 am)

Sorry, Narain... I forgot about those tags.

Cruise, no - I still get the little fake links. I think it's the comment tracker I wanted, but it's very flawed. :) When I click it, it just leads to a blank page.

Oh, and that's a really cool link, Narain. Can you believe I'd never seen that before? :) Oh, and why exactly were you posting that?

"the url thing like i kept telling you about"

Narainsbrain (August 29th, 2002, 9:31 am)

that's what i was talking about. i think i asked cruise to fix that weeks ago - the link was just an example of how the url thing doesn't work. i know it's a "really cool link", i have the whole thing saved on my hard drive. =)

you messed up my bug report, darn you HK! ;) i'm putting it back the way it was :p my point is that urls should work with or without the "http://", especially with it since that /is/ the proper format for urls.

Stupid me

Narainsbrain (August 31st, 2002, 5:10 am)

I said I'd change it back twice and forgot to do it... [slaps forehead] Finally I've fixed it: the URL doesn't work now, like it's supposed not to. Irony. =) You listening, Cruise?

CRUISE!!!

cruise (August 31st, 2002, 8:26 pm)

yeah, yeah :P

I'll fix it when I'm back at work next week...had this week off to do some much needed home improvements, so I've been kinda busy....

All Better :P

cruise (September 3rd, 2002, 11:53 am)

OK, finally got a chance to sort this out properly.

You now don't need the 'url' tags if the address begins with http or www, which should make thigns easier. This formatting is also available for members within new postings, so if you want to post a link, it's a lot simpler now :P

Revise that, please

Hellkeepa (September 3rd, 2002, 2:22 pm)

HELLo!

Examine your post again, and the post made by Ben in the "Sci-Fi" forum...

I'd go for the tags if I were you, that's a MUCH more safe solution! ;-

Happy fraggin'!

Teething trouble, 'tis all :P

cruise (September 3rd, 2002, 5:37 pm)

Both work fine now...

Excuse me...

Hellkeepa (September 3rd, 2002, 11:28 pm)

HELLo!

... And my sceptisism, but I'll believe that when I see it. :-

I know: I'm a pain. :-D

Happy fraggin'!
