I just wanted to congratuilate everyone on yet another year of life (and perhaps vitality) that unfolds before us. I send you all my best wishes, and may this new year be a fruitful one for us all(oh, and my birthday was yesterday, so congratulate me :P.)

...if I celebrated either birthdays or new year.
But I don't, so I'll leave you to your pagan festivities :P

Since there's no conceivable harm in saying it, happy new year and a happy birthday to Eldritch as well!
Good to know that the earth has completed one more revolution around the sun, and has passed once again the position relative to the sun it held when the original event, be that the /first/ First of January or simply Eldritch's birth, took place. Hmm, when you look at it that way, it seems to lose some of its charm. =)
Oh, heck. Hurrays and happiness to everyone.

Earth was probably at a different position on the first Jan 1, since the calendar's been modified since then. But happy new year (and happy birthday to Eldritch) =)

Paganism isn't all that bad then :P It gets you gifts and fireworks. BEsides, people have ways of turning it into non-pagan festivities. Consider that in times long ago, when most of Europe was Catholic, they used to name you by the saint on whose day you were born... Therefore, it's not so pagan. And it gets you gifts !!! Delicious material wealth cfor Eartly happiness ;)

This was my New Years blessing for a friend on DA. It wasn't 100% accurate for y'all so I edited it a bit, but the sentiment remains the same.

I consider you a friend, and hope you feel the same way. Here's to a splended new year, fresh and clean, unspoilt by the past, full of opportunity and choices and, above all - life.
Don't let it drag you down. Don't let it get to you. Remember; "Life's too important to be taken seriously." No matter what you may feel, life is never as bad, or as good, as you think it is. Life is there, and remember that you are a part of it.
In closing, keep in mind that you are the only person on this earth that can use your gift. What gift that is, or however insignificant it is - is still unique and precious-because only YOU can use it.
Feed it, nurture it, guide it with wise friends and temper it with experience. I guarantee that in a few years it will grow into something almost unrecognizable.
May you come to recognize the everyday beauty of the world around us, the extraordinary splendor of complexity that is life, and may you come to find peace in a world of madness and chaos.
I feel like saying "amen". :)

Very touching, thank you :P
btw...I love the way you use "In closing" to start a paragraph half-way through :P

It's one of the "meaningless preacher's phrases"... :)
I used it because it sounded good.
