rollercoaster day

cruise (February 3rd, 2004, 4:41 pm)

Got in this morning to work and found some not happy people. Apparently I broke a rather important script last night before I left, and didn't hear my phone in the vening when they rang me to fiix it.

Needless to say, they ain't happy, and disciplinary actions are a possibility...especially since this is the second time I've done this :/

However, this did provide the metaphorical boot up the behind to chase up fortean times, who I mailed a while ago about the possibility of submitting some articles for their game reviews section. This is unpaid, and lilkely only one or two short reviews an issue, but it'll get me in print, which is the major first step.

Well, today, after my second mail, I got a reply, apologising for their non-contact, and seeming very pleased to have me submit reviews. In addition, they actually get sent promo copies of games, so if there's any games/genres I'm interested in, they can send me on the review copies they get.

Like, woot! :D

I've gone from being really down to really buzzing in the space of a few hours, and boy I'm wasted. Oh, and Issue Five of TSFE should be out in the next couple of days, too...

Yikes!

It's only the stuff in "Current Submissions" that's in the next issue - everything else is still considered work-in-progress :P No need to get quite so frantic...
