The Song of the Ancients

Semirrahge
classifications: Fantasy / Humourous

Dumb? Yes. Cool? In a way.

Totally pointless and it's terribly executed - but I like it. Don't kill me, ok?

Yes. It's a poem.

More like this / More by this author

Deep in the mists of distant time,

The world was just a ball of slime,

And since it's never changed at all,

It still is but a ball.

Ho'e'er it was,

As such it is,

It is to us.

Remember my words that to you I leave

Never again the world shall freeze

But rather a ball of fire shall be

At the end of eternity.

Ho'e'er it was,

As such it is,

It is to us.

The ancients they called unto their gods,

And we bow down to ours.

What was is now, and what is shall be,

Around and 'round unendingly.

Such it is, and is to come,

And now I think my song is done.

:D

That's grand. I love the way people always refer to how we bow to our own gods like the people in the past bowed to theirs, but I can't think of one time I've seen someone refer to our descendants bowing to completely different gods. Are we too entrenched, even the aethiests, to consider that Christianity will one day fall to be replaced with another religion?

Hah!
